A Doll's House

My Name is Nazila and I have learned many things this year in my English class that I enjoyed for example; I enjoyed learning all about the Tragedy of Julius Caesar. Also, about the many short stories that we have read and their authors. I have also learned to use transition words in my essays. I have also learned many other things this year that I'm sure I will use in the future like learning to edit everything I write, or wording things more clearly, I have also learned to analyze what I'm reading to better understand it, also before I start reading a book looking up facts about it before will help me better understand what I'm reading.
Our class is about to start reading a wonderful play by Henrik Ibsen Called “A Doll’s House” and before reading anything you should have some background knowledge of the author and the book. According to http://www.kirjasto.sci.fi/ibsen.htm “Henrik Ibsen was born in Skien, a tiny coastal town in the south of Norway and as a child Ibsen dreamed of becoming an artist so he went on to become a writer. He went on to write "A Doll’s House". "A Doll´s House" (1879) was a social drama, which caused a sensation and toured Europe and America. In the play a woman refuses to obey her husband and walks out from her apparently perfect marriage, her life in the "A Doll's House". At the turn-of-the-century physicians used Nora, whose mood changes from joy to depression in short cycles of time, as an example of "female hysteria". Later Havelock Ellis, inspired by Nora's character, saw in her "the promise of a new social order."” I believe that he based some of the characters and the story line on his life while he was growing up.
